At SMS Equipment, our Product Support Sales Representative is responsible for supporting new and used equipment sales and product support sales activities through specialized technical or scientific knowledge and/or product applications. The Product Support Sales Representative is an internally recognized expert in the product line. This position is based in Saskatoon, SK.

The salary for this position is $48,000 plus commission.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Represent the Company as being a hands-on person as it relates to parts and service.
  • Establish and maintain strong, professional relationships with customers and manufacturers.
  • Provide customer support through OEM and third party parts and service solutions.
  • Provide detailed equipment repair proposals to meet customer's specific requirements.
  • Assist in evaluating used equipment to help evaluate customer needs.
  • As technical resource to sales professionals, contributes to sales division by providing deeper understanding of product workings or applications, as well as of product limitations and non-traditional product usage.
  • Report regularly and make recommendations as to how to improve products in order to see continued product improvements.
  • Develop and present parts and service quotations to customers.
  • Assist in getting new customers set up with KomTrax and VHMS.
  • Sell parts to equipment owners, contractors and fleet operators.
  • Coordinate all service, warranty, billing, and equipment issues to the appropriate SMS manager. Main point of contact in resolving such issues.
  • Travel throughout assigned territory to support customers needs and provide after sales support.

Qualifications:

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 3 years experience in Industrial Sales as well as experience in the heavy equipment business and familiarity with large construction equipment. Additional requirements include:

  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Word and have experience navigating CRM systems.
  • Must be self-motivated and proactive in keeping abreast of cutting edge technology and best practise pertaining to the Company's products and services; enhancing expertise, performance and bottom line productivity.
  • Proficient communication skills in dealing with customers and O.E.M.s.
  • Ability to travel as needed to meet business requirements and customer expectations.
  • Ability to drive company vehicles for extended periods of time.
