JOB OBJECTIVE

  • Deputy Bid Manager for the Alstom Services Department, delivering bids for Operation and Maintenance of Transport Systems
  • Contribute to manage the Tender, Quality, Costs, Delivery and Performance (QCDP) commitment for bids.
  • Contribute to deliver a winning proposal to the customer, with a defined scope, accurate QCDP commitments, in a timely manner and within the defined tender budget.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Deputy Bid Manager to take over some of these tasks under the responsibility of a Bid Manager Operation & Maintenance:
  • Pre-tendering (when relevant), in anticipation to the tendering process.
  • Build the schedule to prepare the offer
  • Manage the tender budget
  • Manage the tender team
  • Analyze the request for proposal (RFP) and define the bid operational strategy in line with the commercial strategy
  • Propose the offered solution in term of product solution and tender organization
  • Ensure offered solution compliance versus customer requirements and internal product strategy
  • Lead the preparation of the financial elements of the bid
  • Define interfaces and allocate between actors the cost targets and the contractual obligations
  • Check, challenge and properly consolidate sub systems commitments
  • Organize risks reviews and ensure the elaboration of mitigation plan
  • Prepare and lead internal reviews and obtain clear commitments from internal actors
  • Lead the preparation of the documentation to submit to the customer: technical description, clause by clause, schedule, administrative documents, and price formats.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable Alstom rules & instructions

DESIRED PROFILE:

  • Master or bachelor’s degree in engineering or any relevant field
  • MBA an asset
  • Experience in railway industry, or maintenance industry, an asset
  • Experience in costing, planning & risk management, legal aspects, an asset
  • High Communications skills, reporting capabilities
  • Negotiation skills; Customer oriented
  • Fluent in English, French is a strong asset
  • Some travels are expected across the region (North America)
  • Localisation in the area of Montreal. Other localisations in Canada and United States to be discussed.
