Purpose Statement

The Associate Customer Marketing Manager will be focused on supporting Demand Creation initiatives for the Canadian Division. This position will support driving growth within the category and channel and collaborating with cross functional teams to deliver financial objectives. The Associate role will be entry level into Canada Marketing organization with the opportunity to develop marketing & sales competencies required for future advancement.

This will be a hybrid opportunity and in office collaboration will be needed at our Woodbridge ON location

Key Accountabilities and Outcomes

Support Demand Creation Initiatives
Support Demand Creation strategy within specific channels.
Support and create Consumer Insight and Market research content for Canada Sales & Marketing Teams.
Developing an in-depth understanding of the operational environment of key channels.
Developing in-depth understanding of consumers' attitudes, behaviors and opinions as they relate to our priority product categories.
Using various sources of market research data to understand the customers' and their consumers' unarticulated needs.
Collaborate closely with channel team. Be engaged in key team meetings and working collaboratively to achieve results.
Collaboration and leadership working directly with Product Marketing Managers on how we make innovative products and solutions relevant to channel/customer.
Developing and sharing a broad based knowledge of our key product categories. This is beyond the basic features and benefits.
Support execution of the Canadian Strategic Plan.

Support Customer Ideations
Collaboration with Sales channel/segment leads & Marketers to support growth opportunities and/or defend base.
Understand customer strategies and apply customized approach to 'telling the story' and framing products/solutions.
Collaboration with sales to use consumer data to influence the purchase decision by developing well-articulated and compelling arguments.
Support customer presentations in terms of both content and presentation in front of customer.
Committed to continuous improvement and raising the bar to exceed customer expectations.
Champion change by innovating how we present to customers and how we elevate insights with our customers.
Develop key initiatives to achieve channel specific sales and profit targets.
Success of key initiatives will be ultimately be measured by the channel achieving their growth and financial objectives.
This is a team selling approach where the sales manager acts as the general manager of the customer and the Customer Marketing Manager acts as the channel subject expert as it relates to Rich's key categories and products.
Key initiatives will have a channel perspective of major Marketing initiatives (Innovation, Seasonal Promotions, Drive the Core, etc.)
Use the in-depth customer knowledge to be the champion of the "voice of the customer" internally at RPC.
Recommend marketplace and customer specific NPD projects.
Work with marketing to clearly define the customer needs to successfully scope NPD custom projects.
Provide input to division strategies, channel plans and Annual Operating Plan.
Recommendations for channel research budgets
Website(s) and Digital Ecosystem
Supports the development and continuous improvement of Rich's digital ecosystem including public website and Customer Engagement platform.
Drives digital strategies & website maintenance and optimization.
Responsible for USC websites: monitoring performance, developing/launching new features, and supporting integrated campaigns in alignment with the Director of Marketing

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

  • Post-secondary education (university degree) in marketing, business, economics, or related field. MBA preferred, but not required.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a marketing or customer facing business development role.
  • Strong quantitative/analytical skills (data interpretation, identifying trends, budgeting, etc.).
  • Superior communication skills (written and oral presentations).
  • Demonstrate strong problem solving, organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Demonstrate influencing skills with ability to craft unique and compelling selling arguments.
  • Strong PC, proficiency to include Microsoft Office, Sales Force, CRM and other business software systems.
  • Self-motivated and a self-starter.
  • Project a positive and professional image and manner.
  • Ability to work on a computer for extended period of time.
