The Position:

We are looking for a Business Systems Analyst, Level II to join our growing BrokerLink team and work out of one of our offices in Alberta, Ontario, or Atlantic Region on a permanent FT basis!

Reporting to the PMO Manager and working within the process defined within the PMO Governance. The BSA works closely with the Business and IT Stakeholders to analyze and research business operational processes, design or modify procedures to improve efficiency and obtain the desired results. They will analyze the needs of the company and users, document the business requirements to serve as the basis for systems' specifications.

What the Role Entails:

  • Gather and document business requirements through stakeholder interviews, workshops, and research
  • Analyze and evaluate current business processes, systems, and workflows to identify areas for improvement
  • Translate business needs into technical specifications and user stories for development teams
  • Create detailed documentation including business requirement documents (BRDs), functional specifications, and process flows
  • Work closely with project managers, developers, QA testers, and other team members throughout the project lifecycle
  • Facilitate communication between business stakeholders and technical teams to ensure solutions align with business goals
  • Participate in system design discussions and help define solutions that meet user requirements
  • Assist in developing test plans and performing user acceptance testing (UAT) to validate deliverables
  • Support implementation activities and provide post-deployment support to ensure system effectiveness
  • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts by identifying process inefficiencies and recommending enhancements
  • Ensure documentation and processes comply with company standards and policies
  • Stay informed on new technologies and industry trends relevant to the business domain.

To be a successful candidate, you will need to possess a strong blend of analytical thinking, business acumen, and communication skills. Success in this role comes from the ability to deeply understand both business needs and technical possibilities, effectively bridging the gap between stakeholders and development teams. A great BSA is proactive, detail-oriented, and adaptable—able to navigate ambiguity, ask the right questions, and translate complex concepts into clear, actionable requirements. Building strong relationships, maintaining a user-focused mindset, and continuously seeking opportunities to improve processes are also key traits that drive meaningful impact and long-term success.

  • Post Secondary Education
  • Minimum 5-8 years of work experience as a Business Systems Analyst
  • Knowledge in insurance, technical experience, and business writing
  • Microsoft suite of products; business use case writing, experience collecting and documenting business requirements
  • Strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail
  • Time management skills and ability to handle multiple priorities with time sensitive deadlines
  • Analytical skills, able to identity gaps
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
