Duties and Responsibilities:

The CSES Financial and Administrative Support Coordinator is the position responsible for assisting in providing administrative onboarding for students in their Carleton Student Engineering Society (CSES) roles.

The purpose of this role is to provide information and support so that CSES members can function within Carleton University's rules and regulations, and to oversee day-to-day operations including bookkeeping, purchasing, insurance, permitting, donation and sponsorship needs, and also administer programs of joint responsibility between ODFED and CSES.

Qualifications:

The incumbent must possess the following qualifications:
• Have an understanding of the university community in terms of governance (policy and procedure structures), student group organizations, and the importance of student engagement.
• Experience with volunteer activities and fundraising.
• Experience with both advising and supervising student staff/groups.
• Understanding student development.
• Have the ability to network with Canadian engineering schools.
• Knowledge and/ or experience with the Canada not-for-profit corporations act.
• Proficient with MS Office.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work individually and as part of a team; ability to multi-task with tight deadlines.
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.

Education and Experience:

The above is normally acquired through the completion of:
• Four-year university degree in either the STEM disciplines, or business / accounting / finance
• Three years' experience of office management relating to finance, budgeting, purchasing, and record keeping.
