What you'll do
As a member of the Domestic Transportation Operations team, you will help lead a high-energy, fast-paced network that supports Canadian Tire Corporation across Canada. The primary role of the Domestic Execution Team Lead is to guide and direct a team of Execution Analysts. In this role, you'll support team members in executing current business processes, ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable operations for Store Deliveries, Domestic Vendor Pickups, and Offshore Inbound volume through the Domestic Rail network. Your team will be responsible for establishing industry-leading visibility for store and vendor shipments nationwide, while optimizing service for stakeholders. You will play a key role in transformative process improvements, particularly with the implementation of visibility technology (Movement by P44 and OTM) across the network. This dynamic environment calls for a strong leader with exceptional people management, organizational, and communication skills, along with a commitment to continuous improvement and active participation in cross-functional initiatives.
Provide guidance to a team of employees supporting a 7/24 operation including call centre and customer service support in the movement of CTC freight.
Work closely with p44 as our technology partner to enable and rollout across stores and carriers to provide seamless visibility to "where is my truck"
Work closely with Rail Service providers to ensure timely movement of freight over the rail, while also working through process improvement for seasonal challenges
Provide clear direction and prioritize work within the team
Provide feedback and coaching to team members daily
Create (semi-annually) staffing schedule, ensuring fair shift rotation and adequate coverage across all days / shifts
Provide input and recommendations on business processes and/or technical issues
Promote and support implementation of process, procedural and technological changes
Identify process and systems improvement opportunities and provide subject matter expertise and change initiatives
Lead department projects and identify required resources to complete on time
Compile data/reports on specific stores and ensure deliveries adhere, within a reasonable tolerance, to the delivery schedule
Work with stores, operational staff and carriers as required to address pressing delivery issues
Monitor quality of Visibility Tool data as it relates to Distribution Centre (DC) / consolidation facility departures and store deliveries
Availability as required to support 24/7 operations
What you bring
Post-Secondary degree in Applied Science, Business, Engineering, similar discipline or equivalent experience
Minimum 2-3 years experience in building and developing teams and cross-functional Supply Chain experience
Passionate, influential leader that can build a credible roadmap, delivers results and can work cross functionally to meet CTC goals
Experience in working in a collaborative work environment to manage variances to expectations (in other words working with Stores and Dealers)
Skilled at managing multiple tasks, setting and tracking own milestones, and meeting deadlines
Demonstrated ability to organize and schedule work effectively
Well developed analytical, decision making and problem-solving skills
Able to deal with a dynamic and changing environment
Proven experience with Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint
Supply Chain/Transportation Industry Knowledge
Experience with Transportation management systems
