Territory Sales Manager - Quebec & Maritimes

Position Summary:

Reporting to the Regional Vice President Sales, this position is accountable for increasing sales, new customer penetration and overall field level support to improve customer satisfaction/retention. Successfully develop and grow long-term relationships with National Account & Independent Customers' Management, Sales and Support Personnel.

Performance Expectations:

  • Exceed annual sales targets and continue to increase market share for all product lines within the territory. The Territory includes Quebec, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and Newfoundland.
  • Establish and develop long-term relationships with District & Branch Personnel of all National Account Customers driving business from the "field up".
  • Establish and develop long-term relationships with Principal and Company Personnel of all Large Regional and Independent Customers.
  • Implement pricing strategy focusing on revenue and profitability for Independent Customers in the territory. Negotiate deals within guidelines established by Regional Vice President.
  • Participates in the development of annual Business Plan Proposals with large Regional Customers.
  • Develop excellent product and application knowledge of Skyjack and Competitive Equipment. Conduct sales training or product demonstration for Customers' Sales personnel.
  • Effectively communicates and works cross-functionally with Field Sales and Product Support Teams.
  • Submits weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual production forecasts to assure production levels accurately reflect opportunity within the territory.
  • Continually monitors market trends as it relates to current products, new product development and market opportunities within the Territory.
  • Provides field-level intelligence specifically related to Territory Market Conditions, i.e. competitive pricing and programs.
  • Manage and submit weekly T&E Expenses within budget and guidelines established by Regional Vice President.
  • Responsibly maintain company-owned assets which include vehicles, trailers, equipment and computers.
  • Extensive travel (70 %+) throughout the given territory calling on all current and potential customer locations.
  • Perform other duties/projects as assigned.

Credentials:

  • A bachelor's degree marketing, business administration, commerce or equivalent education and experience.

Desired Characteristics:

  • Minimum three years of construction equipment sales. Preferably selling to rental Companies
  • Strong business acumen
  • Proven record of sales success in equipment manufacturing industry.
  • Sense of urgency with a strong customer focus.
  • Outstanding communicator (oral and written).
  • Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Proficient with various computer applications such as Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Performs a variety of tasks.
  • A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
