SCOPE:

ONWF seeks a Manager, Individual and Major Giving who is a strategic relationship-builder and an empathetic and solution-focused leader. This role requires specialization in fundraising, creative marketing, communications and project management. The Manager, Individual and Major Giving, will nurture existing relationships while developing new donor engagement strategies and relationships across Ontario and Canada. They will solicit diversified donations (individual, corporate, etc.), lead campaigns, and manage donor communications and relations to effectively support ONWF's purpose and objectives.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A Degree/Diploma related to fund development, marketing & communications, business, or related field with a Minimum of five (5) years of experience in fundraising or sales, preferably in the Indigenous nonprofit sector
  • Five (5) years' experience in a supervising or management role.
  • Demonstrated administrative management with the ability to effectively supervise and manage a team professionally.
  • Ability to establish professional and collaborative working relationships and function as a member of an interdisciplinary team.
  • Demonstrated record of securing four-six figure donations/gifts/grants/corporate funds, as well as retaining donors and increasing revenue year over year.
  • Excellent relationship-building, communication (written/verbal), and organizational skills.
  • Excellent critical thinking, problem solving, adaptability, and time management skills.
  • Strong project planning, scoping, briefing materials development, task management, tracking and change management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and with diverse stakeholders.
  • Excellent presentation / facilitation skills with the ability to meet deadlines and assigned independent duties.
  • Ability to assist with the setup and participate in occasional events as required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, excel and database management; Proficiency in fundraising software and CRM systems and/or knowledge of accounting software is an asset.
  • Knowledge and working understanding of not-for profit organizations.
  • Current vulnerable sector criminal records check. Valid 1st Aid/CPR.
  • Reliable vehicle with valid Ontario "G" class driver's license, 2 million liability insurance.
  • Cellular phone and internet access is required within this position.
  • Must reside in Ontario and be willing and able to work a flexible working from home arrangement if required. This may include a combination of virtual remote work in your home and in office arrangements. This is based on operational needs and determined by ONWF.
  • Has the ability to travel when required.
  • Proficiency with an Indigenous and French language is an asset.
  • Must be dependable, able to follow instructions, respond to management direction and be able to improve performance through management feedback.
