Description
The successful candidate will be responsible for the operation of the Salvation Army Christmas Kettle Campaign in the Town of Clarenville.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ensuring territorial/divisional standards are kept
Ensuring all equipment is retrieved from storage, cleaned and repaired as needed
Ensuring bags containing printing materials are ready for delivery each morning
Recruiting volunteers for kettle shifts
Ensuring kettle sites are adequately staffed in the event of breakdowns
Ensuring that all printed materials at kettle locations are replenished as needed
Providing orientation for new volunteers covering policies and procedures and expected standards of conduct
Advising volunteers about the time and location of their shift
Providing volunteers with contact info should they require assistance from the kettle coordinator or supervisor during their shift
Instructing volunteers on all kettle securing procedures, including what to do in the event of a robbery or other situation where their personal safety may be threatened
Proving logistical details such as where to park, washroom and break rules and pick-up/drop off procedures
Arranging for distribution and pick up of kettles each day
Keeping accurate computer records of staffing personnel
Creating and maintaining computer schedule for kettles
Randomly visiting kettle locations to ensure that all guidelines are being followed
Maintaining strong positive relationship with retail manager
Writing "thank you" notes to all volunteers when kettle campaign has concluded
Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
HOURS: 35 hours weekly
TERM: 10 weeks; commencing November 4, 2024, and ending January 10, 2025
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
Be able to work within a Christian faith-based setting and uphold the mission, vision and values of The Salvation Army
Have completed High School
Possess good communication and organizational skills
Be able to work independently and/or with a team or supervisor
Possess good computer skills
Possess good interpersonal skills
Be able to direct and supervise volunteers
Possess a valid Newfoundland Driver's License and provide a current Driver's Abstract
Obtain a Criminal Police/Vulnerable Sector Check and clearance through The Salvation Army Internal Abuse Registry
Be willing to sign The Salvation Army Code of Conduct Receipt & Acknowledgement Form
