Description

The Kettle Campaign Coordinator ensures the smooth day-to-day operation of the Kettle Campaign, maximizing volunteers and donations and ensuring competent, compliant Kettle coverage through fundraising campaign dates.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee the operations of the Christmas kettle campaign including orientation and performance management and scheduling of kettle volunteers.
  • Promotes the campaign through community presence, social media, phone calls, etc.
  • Strengthens relationships with management and leadership at all kettle locations and is responsible to act as a liaison, providing supports as needed.
  • Recruits, trains, schedules, gives direction to and supports kettle workers and volunteers.
  • Ensures all kettles and supplies are maintained at all locations, at all times.
  • Works with a list of volunteers, clubs, churches, and businesses to assist in filling volunteer positions.
  • Prepares and makes bank deposits, tracks and records statistical data as required.
  • Deliver and pick-up kettles to/from sites daily when needed, ensuring the security of donations.
  • Host a kettle as required ensuring necessary coverage for breaks, etc.
  • Post campaign may assist with retrieval of all equipment/supplies from various kettle locations.
  • Ensures donors, volunteers, workers, and all partnerships are thanked.
  • Represent the salvation in a positive, professional manner.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Reports directly to senior leadership

HOURS: 30 hrs/week. Expected to work weekdays and Saturdays. Hours vary. Lunch breaks are provided but unpaid. Contract October 30 - January 3.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

Education/Certifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Clean valid driver's license.

Experience:

  • Experience working with and leading volunteers will be an asset

Required Skills/Knowledge:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • High standard of integrity, judgement, and confidentiality.
  • Familiar with creating and maintaining accurate shift schedules.
  • Strong decision-making, organizational skills, and a strong team player.
  • General office skills and experience, familiar in using various office equipment.
  • Proficiency on various computer programs; Microsoft Word, Excel, Database.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, meeting deadlines and targets; ability to multi-task.
  • Agreeable to a flexible non-routine schedule and willing to use a personal vehicle for business purposes

Skills and Capabilities:

  • The performance of the job requires attention to detail in scheduling, as well as in distribution of daily Kettle supplies.
  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds will be required.
  • Providing direction and checking of volunteers
  • Prior Christmas Kettle or Fundraising experience or equivalent would be a definite asset

PREFERRED SKILLS/CAPABILITIES:

Successful candidates, prior to hiring, may be required to provide:

  • Background check consent.
  • A clear vulnerable sector screening.
  • A clean drivers abstract.
  • Completion of our online Armatus Abuse Training and required Health and Safety training.
