Reporting to the Regional Director of Sales & Marketing, this essential commercial role will strategically oversee the leisure, VIP and entertainment markets for Fairmont Pacific Rim. The Director of Luxury Sales is an expert in their market, has strong and longstanding business relationships with travel advisors, influencers and decision makers in the leisure, VIP and entertainment segments.

What you will be doing:

  • Development and oversight of the leisure, VIP & entertainment markets
  • Building and maintaining relationship with key travel agency partners such as American Express Fine Hotels & Resorts, Virtuoso Travel, Signature Travel, Chase Edit and others
  • Organize and participate in appropriate sites, familiarization trips, sales calls, sales trips and industry trade shows to build and promote the hotel's reputation
  • Achievement of sales activities and all objectives outlined in the annual marketing plan
  • Exceed personal sales goals, monthly, quarterly, and annually
  • Proactively develop relationships with local partners and establish a reputation for the hotel within the community
  • Develop lead sources and rapport with key regional personnel, Global Sales, industry partners and assigned client base
  • Conduct rate negotiations are within the established parameters
  • Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports as required
  • Maintain active membership in industry related organizations and associations pertaining to market.
  • Be an active member of the Revenue Management team to determine strategies to optimize revenue opportunities, and implement initiatives to drive revenue
  • Utilize computer software applications to effectively track, solicit, book and follow up on accounts in a proactive manner
  • Work closely with Front Office, Reservations and other hotel departments to ensure delivery of hotel's promised services
  • Support and encourage positive team approach
  • Implement directives as outlined by the Regional Director of Sales & Marketing
  • Uphold the highest standard of internal and external customer service at all times
  • Additional duties as required

Qualifications

Your experience and skills include:

  • Minimum of five years hotel sales experience required
  • Bachelor's Degree and/or Hotel Management Degree preferred
  • Multiple years of experience in senior sales role in luxury hotel environment
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal required
  • Computer literacy in various applications and tools including Opera Sales & Catering / SFA System (or other CMS), Microsoft Office, Cvent, LinkedIn
  • Goal oriented, competitive and well organized
  • Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities, role model in pro-active sales
  • Ability to analyze financial data to create winning group strategies and solutions
  • Positive attitude, firm and supportive, team based approach to ensure attainment of the hotel's short and long term goals
  • Ability to travel and work flexible hours and days
