Assistant General Manager - Pemberton Branch

In partnership and support with an offsite General Manager, the AGM provides on-site management of our Financial Spa™ in beautiful Pemberton, BC. The AGM is responsible for providing leadership, coaching and development of direct reports, while ensuring overall quality sales and service, profitability, and operational excellence of the branch.

Key responsibilities of this role are:

    • Provides exceptional sales and service leadership to branch staff to ensure effective branch operations and successful sales and service to clients. Effectively manages to the BlueShore Financial Spa™ experience.
    • Manages direct reports including: recruitment, retention, development of individual objectives, ongoing performance management, and determining salary increases.
    • Proactively coaches (through group and one-on-one sessions) and develops employees to assist them in achieving career success and growth.
    • Provides development opportunities for staff through various sources including branch learning sessions, internal and external training, and education courses. Ensures each employee has a learning plan in place.
    • Approves mortgages/loans within limits. Makes recommendations to General Manager above limits.
    • Ensures the effective completion of various cash and compliance duties.
    • Manages a variety of loss prevention and security activities including: conducting surprise cash counts, reporting deficiencies, addressing audit issues, monitoring safety, keeping aware of possible money laundering situations, and maintaining premises security including branch, ATM and night deposit areas. Acts as a branch resource for branch staff on security policies and procedures. Oversees a variety of branch operation/security activities as outlined in our BlueShore Financial procedures.
    • Ensures compliance with audit and security standards, policies and procedures. Keeps informed of changes to the same and apprises staff.
    • Resolves more complex member issues or complaints

    Essential Developmental Accountabilities:

    • Develop, implement and manage annual business plan goals and objectives.
    • Manage and report on pipeline of business. Forecasts potential growth and run off.
    • Completes branch specific workforce planning reviews and ensures the successful implementation of employee retention strategies.
    • Authorizes penalty waivers, fee waivers and the like, within established limits, in order to balance retention, growth and profitability of the branch. Makes recommendations for approvals above prescribed limits.
    • Plays an active role in the community to project a positive image for BlueShore Financial and generate business-building opportunities. Responsibilities will include public speaking and appearances as subject matter experts. Coordinates and hosts events on premises applicable to trade areas in collaboration with the Marketing department.

    Qualifications and Experience

    • 5 years progressive sales experience in the financial services industry
    • 3 years supervisory or management experience
    • Solid knowledge of lending practices and procedures
    • Mutual Funds or Canadian Securities Course an asset
    • Branch Compliance Manager and asset
    • Personal Financial Planner (PFP®) or Certified Financial Planning (CFP) designation an asset

    Pay Transparency

    Pay transparency is an important characteristic of our recruitment process and overall BlueShore culture which supports a diverse, equitable and inclusive workforce.

    The target base salary range of this role is $82,000-$101,000 year, plus a competitive variable performance bonus. This role includes a $10,000 annual location differential for increased costs of living for the Whistler/Pemberton branches.

    Employment offers are determined by knowledge, experience and internal equity.
