Lending Services Associate

Lending Services ensures the effective administration of BlueShore Financial's retail and commercial loan portfolio. This position provides centralized service and administrative support to branches and other internal departments. The department oversees all post approval activities that occur during the life cycle of the loan. In addition, the team provides support and guidance to staff regarding loan administration related procedures, documentation and system inquiries. This position provides an opportunity to work primarily from your home office (although not entirely remote). The ideal candidate will have some lending experience and the innate ability to think critically and problem solve.

This position is a hybrid role primarily working from a home office (not fully remote), with approximately one to two days per month in our corporate office in North Vancouver.

Key responsibilities of this role are:

  • Provides administrative support and guidance to branches for all loan related post approval activities including; instructing, funding, payment processing, fire insurance notification, renewal processing, payouts and discharges.
  • Acts a resource to lenders on Credit Administration related policies and procedures including in depth knowledge of the mortgage registration process and required documentation.
  • Manages relationships with solicitors and prepares security documentation for new mortgage funding
  • Processes new mortgage funding, re-advances and personal loan funding and provides risk oversight by ensuring correct security and documentation are in place.
  • Prepares payout statements to both branches and solicitors ensuring pre-payment penalties are calculated correctly and accurately.
  • Prepares discharges of mortgages while ensuring proper security is released
  • Audits files to ensure all required branch and legal documents are received. Includes follow up with branch and solicitor for necessary missing documents.
  • Provides administrative support to branches by processing mortgage and loan related payments and alterations, including external PAD set up
  • Liaises with third party service providers including CUMIS, First Canadian Title, solicitors, Canadian Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC), Genworth, and Canadian Securities Registration Systems (CSRS) on behalf of branch staff.
  • Participates in work team solutions that support efficient centralized lending administration

Qualifications and Experience

  • 2+ years in the financial services industry or related industry with exposure to lending
  • Basic knowledge of Loans Origination system, as well as working knowledge of Excel and Word systems.
  • Detail oriented with strong administrative skills and ability to prioritize and multi-task
  • Strong understanding of lending products
  • Self-motivated learner

Pay Transparency

The target range of this role is $49,900 - $58,700 per year, plus a variable performance bonus. Employment offers are determined by knowledge, experience and internal equity.
