Description

The Christmas Kettle Driver is responsible for supervising Kettle Hosts, delivering and picking up kettles from various assigned locations.

Hours: up to 37.5 hrs/week, Nov 8, 2024 to Dec 24, 2024. Hours may vary. Weekend, afternoon and evening availability

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee Kettle Hosts and ensure operations run smoothly at each location.
  • Deliver and/or pick up kettle(s) from assigned locations in a timely manner.
  • Deliver kettles to their final daily destination and help empty the kettle contents securely into deposit bags.
  • Create a drop off/ pick up schedule or follow the provided schedule, in cooperation with the Kettle Coordinator.
  • Troubleshoot with the Kettle Coordinator when unforeseen changes occur with kettle locations and hosts.
  • Greet staff/ neighbors/ volunteers/ public in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Maintain daily mileage log and submit all approved parking receipts in a timely fashion.
  • May assist with counting kettle funds.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

Education:

  • The successful job applicant will have completed or working towards a high school diploma or higher level of education.

NOTE: An alternative level of education and experience may be acceptable.

Experience:

  • Prior related experience is an asset.
  • Valid Driver’s License, personal vehicle required and insurance, current copy of driver’s abstract for review and verification that is satisfactory to The Salvation Army, in its sole discretion, is required.

  • Work in compliance with OH&S Act and Regulations and abide by Health and Safety policies and procedures.
  • Honest, courteous, and punctual; represent the organization in a positive, professional, and engaging manner.
  • Treat the property of The Salvation Army with due care and caution.
  • Ability to lift/move up to 25 lbs.

Successful candidates, prior to hiring, may be required to:

  • Attend a Kettle Host training session
  • Background check consent
  • Agree to Code of Conduct and required Health and Safety training
