We are seeking an Architectural Sales Representative with extensive product, technical, and application expertise to promote our products and establish strong relationships with the Architectural and Design communities. This role requires reliable communication and collaboration with local sales teams, key clients, and relevant industry influencers.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Call on Architects and Interior Designers including General Contractors, and Installers as needed to introduce and promote our company’s products and service.
  • Work toward and maintain a high-level understanding of our Architectural Products, installation methods, and competitor info.
  • Attend training or information sessions; provide applicable summary updates to team members related to new products, industry trends, or industry updates.
  • Plan, create, and execute presentations for Architects and Interior Design firms via Lunch and Learn and/or face-to-face meetings at their offices to introduce them to our product line.
  • Establish long term relationships with our key clients, while identifying new opportunities.
  • Serve as a consultant, providing specifications and product recommendations.
  • Monitor, research, and pursue new construction opportunities through an awareness of local intelligence (media, contacts, project databases) with the goal of securing product specifications resulting in increased sales.
  • Work collaboratively with Sales Representatives and other departments to meet client requirements, and to provide the most up to date product information and value.
  • Use Customer Relationship Management systems for reporting, maintaining, and expanding customer base. Entering projects and managing those project timelines; detail activities, progress, market information, and other relevant data as appropriate or as requested.
  • Participate in local industry trade shows and events, where direct networking with architects, designers, and end-users are an opportunity to generate further sales.
  • Assist in providing Vitrum specific product options for architect’s projects and assist in having the specification written to include Vitrum products.
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients by ensuring high levels of client satisfaction through prompt and accurate communication when responding, providing technical information, and solving issues and concerns.
  • Travel to meet with clients to understand their business and their fabricated glass requirements.
  • Calculate costs (labour, material, and time requirements), assist with quotations, pricing, contracts, drafting, and communicating project updates and deadlines.
  • Manage client projects and requirements including forecasting and ensuring timely completion of projects.
  • Maintain updated knowledge of all technical terms, company products, services, and capabilities.
  • Achieve revenue, market penetration, and profitability targets. 
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field; or relevant work experience.
  • Proven sales experience; in a glass manufacturing or fabrication environment is ideal.
  • Strong understanding of sales strategies, market dynamics, and customer value drivers. 
  • Demonstrated success in achieving and exceeding sales growth targets. 
  • Exceptional customer service skills with a professional approach.
  • Excellent communication, and interpersonal skills. 
  • The ability to exercise good judgement in a variety of situations.
  • Ability to build and leverage networks. 
  • Availability to travel across the US/Canada border and regionally as needed. 
  • Strong technical skills to operating in software.
