Description

The Christmas Kettle Campaign Coordinator is responsible for creating and implementing the organization and monitoring of Christmas Kettle Campaign activities. They will also ensure adequate staffing is met prior to and during each shift.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

. Promote, coordinate and oversee kettle locations in Edmonton and Sherwood Park.

· Participate in the recruitment of volunteers through service clubs, schools, churches and other organizations.

· Provide orientation and performance management of kettle workers and volunteers.

· Foster and maintain positive working relationships with kettle workers, volunteers and businesses hosting kettle locations.

· Maintain accurate records of worker's/volunteer's information.

· Deliver and pick-up of kettles to/from sites when needed, ensuring the security of donations.

· Prepare the weekly schedule for kettle workers/volunteers as required.

· Host at a kettle as required. Respond to emergency absences and ensure necessary coverage for breaks or late arrivals, etc.

· Make rounds at kettle locations to ensure kettle is staffed as per policy and kettle sites are clean and tidy.

· Ensure kettle workers/volunteers are wearing appropriate TSA logo identity tags/pins and that attire is fitting of the role (i.e., clean, non-offensive slogans, etc)

· Ensure that kettle locations have adequate cleaning supplies per Covid19 guidance, TSA literature and other required items.

· Assist in counting kettle income as needed.

· Record statistical data as required.

· Prepare and send out appropriate Thank You letters to groups and volunteer hours for students.

· Post campaign: prepare an overall report on the campaign for submission to the Executive Director and retrieve and store all equipment/supplies from various kettle locations.

· Perform other position related duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

Education, Qualifications and Certifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent

Experience and Skilled Knowledge Requirements:

  • Prior kettle experience or equivalent would be a definite asset.
  • Experience in office administration, with general office equipment, and strong working skills and experience using MS Word and Excel

Note: Alternative combinations of education and experience may be considered.

  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality in the handling of donor, volunteer and organizational information.
  • Able to lift 9 to 12 kgs (20 - 25 lbs)
  • Must provide an original copy of a Background Check that is satisfactory to The Salvation Army, in its sole discretion, is required. The screening is secured either through the national Canadian Police Information Centre (CPIC) or through the local police detachment.
  • Must provide an original copy of a current Alberta "Class 5" Driver's License and current Driver's Abstract
  • May require screening through The Salvation Army Abuse Registry.
  • Develop an understanding and support for the mission and purpose of The Salvation Army in Canada and its implications as related to position responsibilities.
  • DAYS and HOURS of work: Kettle Campaign normal hours of operation 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
