The Area Team Lead (ATL) position for the 2024 Edmonton/Sherwood Park Christmas Kettle Campaign is a short term contract position. The successful candidate is responsible for oversight of several Christmas Kettle locations in a given geographical zone area. Zone locations include shopping malls, grocery stores and retail outlets.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Orient, supervise, and support Kettle Volunteers
  • Ensure volunteers have the necessary materials during their shifts
  • Participate in the recruitment of new volunteers
  • Assist with providing shift coverage for vacant shifts
  • Coordinate the delivery of kettles to sites daily
  • Foster and maintain positive working relationships with kettle sites
  • Communicate daily with ATL partners for effective transition
  • Communicate daily issues and supply deficiencies to Kettle Coordinators
  • Attend a day of training/orientation on The Salvation Army and the Christmas Kettle Campaign
  • Represent The Salvation Army in a positive, professional manner
  • Performs other position-related duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

Experience:

· Working with volunteers

· Working or volunteering in a position with leadership responsibilities

· Working in a fast paced environment

PREFERRED SKILLS/CAPABILITIES:

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

· Strong customer service skills; enjoy liaising and working with people of all ages and abilities

· Good decision making, organizational and leadership skills

· Willingness to be flexible and work well under pressure with daily timelines and changing priorities

· Self-motivation

· Strong service ethic

· Ability to maintain strict confidentiality in the handling of donor, volunteer and organizational information

· Respect and understanding of the mission and purpose of The Salvation Army

· Valid driver's license and a reliable vehicle required

· Access to email and cellular phone required (allowance provided)

· Able to lift 9 to 12 kgs (20 - 25 lbs)

Successful candidates, prior to hiring, will be required to provide:

  • Background check consent
  • A clean drivers abstract

DAYS and HOURS of work:

Monday through Saturday, 9 am - 3:30 pm
