About this opportunity:

The Cenovus Canadian Refined Products organization has an engaging opportunity available for a Manager, Cardlock Sales to join their organization. This position is responsible for the sales and profitability of Cenovus's commercial Cardlock network.

The successful candidate will be accountable for developing and leading a high-performing team, including recruitment, coaching, training and performance and compensation management. They will be responsible for driving sales excellence through development, management and optimization of a consistent sales process and supporting tools, driving and managing profitable performance of Cenovus's cardlock network, and analyzing business results.

What you'll do:

  • Developing and implementing sales & marketing strategies

  • Achieve growth and hit sales targets by successfully managing the sales team.

  • Drive profitable sales, new business development, and account management.

  • Build relationships with customers internally and externally

  • Own recruiting, objectives setting, coaching and performance monitoring of sales representatives

  • Using software and tools to record customer accounts, sales, as well as analyze sales statistics to determine the performances of different products and salespeople.

  • Build and promote strong, long-lasting customer relationships by partnering with them and understanding their needs

  • Present sales, revenue and expenses reports and realistic forecasts to the management team

  • Identify emerging markets and market shifts while being fully aware of new products and competition status

Who you are:

Our ideal candidate will have the following minimum requirements:

  • Legally authorized to work in Canada

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing or commerce.

  • A minimum 12 years of related business experience with supervisory responsibility.

  • Successful previous experience as a sales representative or sales manager, consistently meeting or exceeding targets.

  • Experience with CRM software and sales management tools.

  • Relevant certifications such as Certified Sales Leadership Professional (CSLP) or Strategic Sales Management Certification considered an asset.

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) considered an asset

  • Experience in gas/convenience/restaurant experience considered an asset

We acknowledge the value of transferrable skills and may consider equivalent combinations of experience and education should you not meet a specific requirement.

For this position you will be required to maintain a Class 5 driver's license, a satisfactory driving record, and adhere to the appropriate Company policies and guidelines. A driver's abstract will be one of the background checks requested in the pre-employment screening for the final candidate
