The Sales Director plays a pivotal role in driving revenue growth and shaping our sales strategy in alignment with market dynamics. You will not only lead our sales team to exceed targets but also harness market analysis and trend forecasting to inform and collaborate closely with our marketing department. Your insights will be crucial in creating a seamless, well-oiled operation that anticipates customer needs and positions our offerings ahead of the competition.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Sales Strategy Development:

  • Craft and execute innovative business to business sales strategies that are not only aligned with overall business objectives but also adaptable to changing market conditions.
  • Utilize advanced analytics and competitive intelligence to identify opportunities and refine our value proposition, ensuring we stand out in a competitive residential marketplace.

Team Leadership:

  • Inspire and cultivate a high-performing sales team by supporting program focused on skill development, product knowledge, and sales techniques.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement by setting clear performance metrics and celebrating team and individual achievements, driving motivation and morale.

Market Analysis:

  • Lead thorough market research initiatives, leveraging both qualitative and quantitative methods to understand client pain points, preferences, and emerging trends.
  • Analyze sales performance data to uncover actionable insights, transforming data into strategic recommendations that drive sales initiatives and enhance customer engagement.

Trend Forecasting:

  • Stay ahead of industry trends and shifts by actively participating in industry events, networking, and engaging with thought leaders, ensuring we anticipate market changes rather than react to them.
  • Develop comprehensive trend reports that inform both short-term tactics and long-term strategic planning, guiding the organization in navigating potential disruptions and seizing new opportunities.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Work closely with marketing, construction and project management teams ensuring cohesive communication, continuous feedback and alignment of goals.
  • Facilitate regular brainstorming sessions and strategy workshops, encouraging innovative thinking and collaborative problem-solving to enhance overall business effectiveness.

Customer Relationship Management:

  • Build and nurture long-term relationships with key accounts, leveraging your expertise to become a trusted advisor and ensuring high levels of client satisfaction and retention.
  • Implement feedback loops with clients to continuously gather insights, using this information to refine sales approaches and enhance our product offerings based on real-world needs.

Performance Measurement:

  • Design and implement a robust performance measurement system that tracks KPIs related to sales effectiveness, customer acquisition, and market penetration.
  • Analyze performance trends to identify areas for improvement and develop targeted training and support initiatives to address gaps and enhance overall team effectiveness.

Strategic Reporting:

  • Prepare and present comprehensive reports for executive leadership, summarizing market insights, sales performance metrics, and strategic recommendations.
  • Advocate for necessary resource allocations, budgeting, and investments based on thorough analysis of market opportunities and sales forecasts, ensuring that the organization is well-positioned for growth.

Innovation and Adaptation:

  • Champion a mindset of innovation within the sales team, encouraging creative thinking and the adoption of new sales technologies and methodologies.
  • Regularly review and adapt sales processes and tools to improve efficiency, enhance customer interactions, and streamline operations.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Bachelor's degree in Marketing; Masters in Business Administration an asset.

Proven experience:7 years of experience in sales; 5 years of experience in a leadership role.

Technical knowledge:In-depth knowledge of the residential construction industry and market trends relevant to the business.
